"Emergency" Use of Scotmail Lists
The following steps may be used by authorized personnel to distribute an "emergency" Scotmail email to the mandatory Scotmail lists (Faculty, Staff, MSOADM, ANS, and Students);
- Dictate and send your Scotmail email to the appropriate list(s);
- Logon on the Scotmail administration site and select the appropriate list link;
- http://scotmail.ucr.edu/mailman/admin/
- Use the correct password for each list.
- Click on the "Tend to pending administrative requests" link.
- Select your Scotmail email and click the "Approve" radio button.
Note - There may be other Scotmail emails pending. Be sure to select only your Scotmail email.
- Click on "Submit All Data" button and then close your browser window.
Note - If you wish to preview your Scotmail, your may fill in the "Additionally, forward this message to:" email address and select the checkbox (leaving the ACTION radio button set to"Defer") and then click "Submit All Data". This will send only one copy to the email address entered for preview.
- Repeat for each Scotmail list email was submitted.
- To verify that your Scotmail was sent, you can visit the Archive page of each list at http://scotmail.ucr.edu. If your Scotmail is present in the archives, it has been successfully sent to the list.
IMPORTANT NOTE - The Students list is dual moderated. You must also contact C&C to ask that they release the Student Scotmail to their list.
NOTE - The Scotmail charges are generated from each Scotmail sent.
